Last Friday we had Physical Organic Chemistry (POC) department outing! We started off in the morning with a Lab Safety and Organisational meeting, which was followed up by lunch and a graffiti workshop! Everyone was very enthusiastic as it was the first time holding a spray paint can for most of us. We created some amazing lab-life and nature inspired art that you can see on our X (Twitter) and Instagram profiles (@Huckgroup)! ✨
Right before Christmas break we had an Organic Chemistry Cluster party! This year the topic was bioluminescence! We had a lot of fun and made a POC photo!
It’s that time of the year again! In POC department we have an annual tradition to exchange little Sinterklaas/Christmas presents 🎅🎁. To make the choice easier, we are always gifting socks 🧦 and write a personal poem 📝. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the time together before the winter holiday!

Right before Christmas holiday our POC department celebrated Secret Sock Santa!🧦🎅 This is our annual tradition in which we gift special socks and also write a personal poem! This brought a lot of joy and laugh to all of us!
Last Friday we were together enjoying exotic dishes at the PhysOrgChem International Dinner! We proved that nearly every chemist is also an outstanding cook with 18 dishes from participants, representing around 12 national cuisines! The winner was 🇬🇧Oliver with his delicious Shepherd’s Pie!
In February our new Social Activities Committee organised a trip to the Burgers’ Zoo. We waved to elephants, Roelroels, sea lions and many other animals!
