Melde Witmond
Developing single-cell multi-omics tools to quantify dynamics of cellular response
About me
Melde Witmond started her studies with a bachelor in Biomedical Sciences (Utrecht University, NL). After exploring the field of forensic science during a master at the University of Amsterdam (NL), she decided that the more fundamental research of the biomedical field was more to her liking. She completed the master Medical Biology in 2020 (cum laude, Radboud University Nijmegen, NL), with a focus on omics and computational data analysis. The same year, Melde started with her Ph.D. in the group of prof. Wilhelm Huck. In close collaboration with her colleagues, she investigates cellular signalling processing in a dynamic environment, applying state-of-the-art single-cell multi-omics and computational approaches. When Melde is not doing research, she enjoys reading all kinds of books, making jigsaw puzzles, playing volleyball (and doing sports in general), and spending time with family.
