Evgenii Bortnikov
In vitro reaction networks for molecular information processing
About me
During his research-oriented integrated BSc–MSc program, Evgenii focused on developing synthetic methods and exploring the reactivity of boron hydride clusters. He then pursued a PhD in the group of Dr. Sergey Semenov at the Weizmann Institute of Science, where his interests expanded to the field of electrochemistry, including organic electrosynthesis and electrochemical engineering, and out-of-equilibrium phenomena, with a particular focus on organic reaction networks and reaction–diffusion patterns. As a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Wilhelm Huck, Evgenii now investigates chemical information processing using enzymatic reaction networks. In his free time, he enjoys photography, playing chess, and discovering inspiring landscapes and architecture in his surroundings.
