About me
Max earned his Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Life Sciences in 2020 and his Master’s degree in Molecular Life Sciences in 2023 at Wageningen University and Research. For his Master thesis he was team captain of the iGEM 2022 team ‘colourectal’, working to engineer a prebiotic that could sense colorectal cancer. For his Master internship he worked at LenioBio to design novel simplified DNA templates for their cell-free expression system. In 2025, he started his PhD at the Huck group as part of the EVOLF consortium which looks to build a synthetic cell. Max’s project focusses on transcriptomics in cell-free systems to gain a better understanding of how different building blocks of the cell may affect transcription and translation. Outside of the lab he enjoys tennis, playing boardgames and Dungeons and Dragons.
