Johannes Hahmann

In vitro Reaction Networks for Molecular Information Processing

johannes.hahmann@ru.nl

About me

Johannes received his Bachelor’s in Chemistry from RWTH Aachen University in 2019 and his Master’s in Matter to Life from Heidelberg University through the Max Planck School Matter to Life in 2021. He returned to RWTH Aachen University for his PhD in Chemistry, which he completed in 2026, studying DNA as a programmable platform for precise mechanochemical bond scission. In 2025, he was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to join the Biodesign Institute in Tempe, Arizona. As a postdoctoral researcher in the Huck group, Johannes is investigating chemical information processing using enzymatic reaction networks. Outside the lab, he enjoys discovering new TV shows and playing video games.
